This is the headshell socket and internal wiring assembly for the SME 3009, fitting both the Series II and Series II Improved tonearms. It carries the four colour-coded lead wires that connect the headshell to the arm's output leads, and is retained in the arm tube by a small set screw that also allows azimuth adjustment.
