SME 3009 Series II early bias guide, original SME part, in good working order.
The bias guide is part of the anti-skate (bias) compensation system fitted to the SME 3009 Series II tonearm. On the early Series II design it is a single metal piece, secured under the base clamp nut of the tonearm sub-assembly; a nylon cord runs over the guide to a hanging weight to apply anti-skate force. Later Series II Improved versions changed this to a plastic housing with a pulley wheel.
